Samsung SGH-F490, a Multimedia Cell Phone

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced to launch his newest multimedia cell phone, Samsung SGH-F490 and will be available at Europe at the first quarter of 2008. The manufacturer claimed if this handheld has superiority on the display and its user interface.
Similar to SGH-F700, this handheld relies on the large 3.2 inches TFT touchscreen with 262,144 colors sharpness and has resolution 240×320 pixel (QVGA) to give the best display. To fight today’s market, 5MP camera and its flash integrated in the cell phone, about to give competition on Nokia N82, LG Viewty and Sony Ericsson K850i. A VGA camera for video call is placed in the front cover upon the display. Seeing the design, it is similar to iPhone, large display and minimum button.
This 3G/HSDPA support handheld, uses 2007 iF Communication Design Award winning, “Croix User Interface” for its front design. Screen technology enabling the user to access menu by finger touching, similar to touchFLO in some O2 PDAs.
As a multimedia cell phone, Samsung SGH-F490 is not at a doubt can play movie clip in WMV, MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 formats and today’s audio formats. Bluetooth support A2DP, 3.5mm audio jack, 130MB internal memory and microSD memory slot provided to give good performance. Its camera may record video in VGA resolution, 30 fps.
